Bylaws of the department
A. Matters related to admission
- General admission: follow graduate school regulations
- Special admission
- Common
- Those who are eligible for the special screening will be given priority to those majoring in the same department and similar departments.
- The number of people selected for special screening shall be within a certain range of the total number of people recruited.
- The master's course
- It is evaluated by document review (40%) and major oral exam (60%).
- Evaluation based on university grades is calculated based on grade evaluation criteria.
- The evaluation of major experience is added one point to the number of years in office.
- Matters concerning research performance shall be in accordance with the bylaws on research performance.
- Ph.D. program
- It is evaluated by the Ph.D. program document review (40%) and the major oral exam (60%).
- It is evaluated by the doctoral program document review (40%) and the major oral exam (60%). The evaluation by document review shall be based on the major experience, research results, and research plan.
- Matters concerning major experience and research performance shall be determined separately.
- The evaluation based on oral examinations shall be based on major knowledge, personality, and liberal arts.
- The evaluation of major knowledge reflects the opinions of professors in the field. However, allocation according to priority is determined separately.
- Similarities and scope of recognition If a student who applied for the master's course takes more than 20 credits related to mechanical engineering among the major subjects of the department (or undergraduate) he or she graduated from, it is recognized as a similar department. And those who have a minor in mechanical engineering are recognized as similar departments. A doctoral course is recognized as a similar department if you have graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (department) and the Department of Similar Engineering (department) from the undergraduate department and have obtained a master's in mechanical engineering.
- Common
B. Matters concerning credit completion
- Credit acquisition
- Curriculum credits include 24 credits for master's degree programs, 36 credits for doctoral programs, and more than 60 credits for integrated courses.
- For thesis research, two credits for master's degree programs (2 credits for the final semester), four credits for doctoral programs (2 credits for the final two semesters), and six credits for integrated courses (2 credits for the final three semesters) should be obtained.
- Designation of supplementary courses and recognition of coursesSupplementary subjects for master's and doctoral students from other majors (excluding similar departments) are determined by the faculty meeting of the department. However, if there are similar subjects among the subjects already completed, they may be replaced by the decision of the faculty meeting of the department.
C. Matters concerning foreign language tests
- The master's course: Follow graduate school regulations.
- Ph.D. program: It is tested whether it is suitable for conducting research in a major field as a single foreign language (English).
D. Matters concerning the comprehensive examination
The comprehensive master's and doctoral courses are evaluated by students selecting two master's courses and three doctoral courses among the subjects taken by major. In accordance with the graduate school regulations, the perfect score for each master's and doctoral comprehensive examination subject is 100 points, and the score of 70 or more in the comprehensive examination is passed.
E. Matters concerning submission and examination of thesis
Paper Submission Requirements : A person who meets the following requirements may submit a dissertation.
