Thesis Examination Process
Qualifications required by semester immediately before writing thesis

- Those who have obtained necessary credits for course completion (Average points of 80 or higher, Supplementary credit obtained if applicable)
- Those who have registered for at least 4 regular semesters (3 semesters for Integrated Master’s program / 8 semesters for Integrated Ph.D. program)
- Those who have obtained at least 2 credits of Thesis Research (4 credits for Integrated Ph.D. program) for Doctoral program
Foreign Language Exam
- Pass/Fail: May and November
- Qualification: Those who have registered for at least 1 semester
Comprehensive Exam
- Pass/Fail: February and August
- Qualification: Those who have obtained course completion credits for an applicable program (Master’s program: 18 credits, Doctoral program: 27 credits, Integrated Ph.D. program: 45 credits)

Master’s program: A person who has presented a research plan and been recommended by the Advisory Professor after receiving his/her guidance for at least one semester (Thesis research plan and Research plan presentation report to be submitted)

Doctoral program: A person who has presented a research plan and been recommended by the Advisory Professor after receiving his/her guidance for at least two semesters (Thesis research plan and Research plan presentation report to be submitted)
Research Performance
A person who wishes to write a Ph.D. dissertation must have a certain number of research outcomes as required by the department (depending on the department, see Dong-A University Graduate School Catalog for more information) under the guidance of the Advisory Professor
Research Registration
Candidates for degrees are subject to research registration in the previous semester before starting to write thesis
(Registration period: Late Feb, Late Aug, ※ Make sure to register once a year)
Those who are expected to submit a thesis are recommended early in the semester during they prepare thesis to:
