Departmental Regulations
A. Matters related to admission
- Scope of recognition of similar departments Civil and Environmental Engineering major and related fields, and if the relevant reason arises, the department faculty council will decide.
- Matters related to special admissions
- In the case of a master's program, priority is given to those with a bachelor's degree and those who are actively engaged in academic activities related to their major. In the case of a doctoral program, the same applies to those with a master's degree and other master's programs.
- Approximately 50% of the quota will be selected through special admissions.
- Matters related to general admissions : Examination subjects
Matters related to general admissions are the same as those related to special admissions (A).
B. Matters related to credit acquisition
Matters related to supplementary subjects: The supplementary subjects for master's and doctoral students from other majors will be decided by the department faculty council. However, if there are similar subjects among the subjects completed at the university or graduate school, they may be exempted according to the decision of the department faculty council.
C. Matters concerning the comprehensive examination
The comprehensive examination subjects are determined by the supervising professor after confirming and designating the subjects taken by the applicant, and the instructor in charge of the subject prepares and grades the questions. However, including one subject supervised by the supervising professor, it is limited to two subjects for the master's major and three subjects for the doctoral major.
D. Matters concerning the foreign language examination
Foreign language examinations for the master's and doctoral programs are conducted in English, and for the doctoral program, a second foreign language is not conducted.
E. Matters concerning the submission and evaluation of thesis
Requirements for thesis submission: Those who meet the following requirements may submit a thesis.

- Acquire at least 24 credits of coursework required for completion (average grade of 80 points for all subjects)
- Acquire all credits for supplementary subjects designated
- Those who have completed regular registration for at least 4 semesters
- Those who have received guidance from an advisor for at least 1 semester after submitting a thesis research plan
- Those who have passed the foreign language test (English) and comprehensive test (2 major subjects)
- Pay the research registration fee once at the beginning of the semester in which you wish to claim your degree after completion
- Thesis plan must be announced by the affiliated department at least one semester before the preliminary and main examinations

- cquire at least 36 credits of coursework required for completion (60 credits for the integrated program, average grade of 80 points for all subjects)
- Acquire all credits for supplementary subjects designated (however, supplementary credits must be 12 credits) (those who are above 9 credits)
- Those who have completed regular registration for 4 semesters (8 semesters for integrated courses) or more
- Those who have acquired 2 or more credits of thesis research, and 4 or more credits of thesis research for integrated courses
- Those who have received guidance from an advisor for 2 semesters or more, have made a public presentation by department at least once, and have been recommended by the advisor
- Those who have passed the foreign language test (English, second foreign language: limited to the relevant department)
- Those who have passed the comprehensive test (3 major subjects)
- The research registration fee must be paid once at the beginning of the semester in which the degree is to be claimed after completion
- The thesis plan must be presented by the affiliated department at least one semester before the preliminary and main examinations
- Those who have research achievements determined by the department under the guidance of the advisor after admission
Integrated course type 2: If you have passed the foreign language test and comprehensive test while enrolled in the master's program, the foreign language test is exempted, and the comprehensive test is recognized as a final pass if you pass only 1 major subject additionally
- Department standards
- Those who have entered the doctoral program Afterwards, 100% of the research papers (including patent registrations), or at least 3 papers, must be published (or confirmed to be published) in domestic/international related academic journals (SCIE-level, SCOPUS, Korea Research Foundation-listed (candidate) journals) before the preliminary review.
- The conversion rate of paper (patent registration) achievements is based on the Dong-A University faculty achievement evaluation criteria, and 1 patent registration (regardless of the registration agency) is considered as 1 paper publication.
- The recognition of academic journals other than those specified above is decided through the department faculty meeting.
- This standard applies to degree applicants after March 1, 2017.

F. Other matters necessary for department operation
In case of important reasons regarding the departmental regulations, the department faculty meeting may revise or supplement them.
